A riff on a White Russian

Ingredients

  • 1 oz. heavy cream        
  • ¼ oz. simple syrup        
  • 1 ½ oz. Anejo or aged rum
  • 1 ½ oz. coffee liqueur    
  • ice       

Directions

In one cocktail shaker, combine cream, simple syrup, and a little ice. Shake really well to aerate the cream and melt the ice. In the second shaker, add ice, rum, and coffee liqueur. Stir well. Strain into a coupe glass and top with the cream from the first shaker.
